The University of Maryland's Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute (MFRI) is a global education and training organization. We can deliver a wide range of training programs at our various facilities in Maryland or at your installation anywhere in the world. MFRI has delivered program in support of the Department of Defense in Europe, Asia, Middle East and South America. In addition to our globe reach we can delivered programs in any U.S. State or Territory.  

Our training programs can be flexibly scheduled to accommodate your organization's training demands.

  • The Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute provides experienced and qualified instructional staff.
  • The programs are based upon Job Performance Requirements of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standards.
  • Each student must meet the minimum DoD Fire and Emergency Services certification prerequisites for program entry and certification.
  • For most programs, students are eligible for certification, in accordance with the National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (NBFSPQ - the Pro Board) and/or International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC), upon successful completion of these training programs.
  • HQ AFCESA/CEXF accepts Pro Board training through a Reciprocity Agreement.
  • MFRI is a member of the Central Contracting Registration program within the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). We are also affiliated with the DLA's Prime Vendor Program.

Government purchase forms, cash, checks, credit cards or electronic transfers are accepted forms of payment.
